Vaux | God is found in the shit | 01-2002

God does not stay 'pure' but enters the dirt of humanity to redeem it. For an account of this service click here. My piece exposed Vaux to considerable controversy, mainly around the 'disrespect' shown to the bread and wine.

Of all the services here, this is the one I wish I had more and better photos of. But it could not be done without breaking the intense atmosphere and focus of the service.

Write the dirt in your life on toilet paper.

The altar. The bread had been thrown on the floor to break it, the wine spilt across the altar.

There is a mirror on each side, people come forward two at a time and watch themselves eat and drink. "You are the Body."
